I had a little crochet knowledge before making Pierre, but I only knew how to crochet straight rows. With Pierre, I learned how to increase/decrease stitches, make "magic loop"s to start off round pieces, and sew crochet pieces together. These were all new to me and explained in depth with the videos. It took me around 8-10 hours to finish Pierre. I think there is a mistake in the instructions where it says to place the beak in the same row as the eyes, but on the bag, the beak is clearly one row below the eyes. If I make another Pierre, I would put the beak lower. Also, as mentioned by another review, I think the eyes would look better 5 stitches apart rather than 6 (or I didn't center the beak properly!), but I'm not going to bother tearing out the eye because it's already finished. I'd also make the stitches of the mid-body smaller because I feel I made him a bit too round by using loose stitches there. Lastly, if I were to try Pierre again, I'd put more stuffing in him. For reference, I only used half the stuffing. I'll be doing Fred and Keroppi next!
