The eyes
Let's do the magic loop again! But this time, a little bit smaller. Using green yarn:
Round 1: | 5 sc in magic loop | (5) |
Round 2: | inc x 5 | (10) |
Round 3: | 10 sc | (10) |
Invisible fasten off with a long tail.
Tip
If you're having trouble seeing the stitches in this teeny tiny magic loop, use the 3 stitch markers that came in your kit and mark the stitches as you make them.
⚠️ If you're going to give this to a child younger than 3 or to a pet, don't use safety eyes! Safety eyes aren’t safe. Confusing, I know. You can embroider eyes on instead.
If safety eyes are a go, then put them between rounds 2 & 3. The flat side of the backing should face the yarn. Watch the video below for a demo on how to count rounds and stitches, and put safety eyes in correctly:
Now use the yarn tail to attach each eye spanning rounds 3-6.
But hold up! The way you sew the eye on is different from how you sewed the belly on, since this is a 3D piece going onto another 3D piece:
