For this piece specifically: the sparkly yarn is cute and looks great, though I can say I am not a fan of touching it. As a finished piece, my little snail and leaf look super cute and they will be great to give my partner for their birthday. It's a really cute pattern and comes together nicely.
In general: I'm a more experienced crocheter looking into these kits as something to gift beginners, so I went through the videos and looked at the written pattern separately. The videos are well done and I really like the fact that they're done step by step, so you can replay a single step as many times as you need to. Having all the bits and pieces together in one package also would take the pressure off a beginner to ensure they have everything they need before starting a project. I have recommended that my nephew look at the Woobles kits to see if he's interested in learning to crochet now, because I think they'd make a great starting point for him.
