I might have started over a dozen times before I got the hang of it but loved learning a new craft and the result is so cute.
I have recently discovered the fun of Woobles when my son gave me a Pac Man to make. I took it with me on a business trip overseas and worked on it in the hotel room in the evenings. It was such a fun and relaxing way to spend the evening after a day of meetings. I have now taken a new set with me on various other trips. The dinosaur was one I bought myself and our exchange student to work on together, and I think they both turned out great.
I got the kit to make my nephew a present, but I am going to need one for myself too! It's so cute and it was relatively easy as well. The spikes were tricky just because they were so small and the arms were scary at first because it was a new technique for me, but they turned out super simple. Mine doesn't stand, but I think that's because I need more stuffing at the base, but I love it anyways!
Tackling Fred was a step up in difficulty for me, skill-wise. Attaching the 3-D part like arms and spikes was a bit stressful because of the spacing. Plus his tail’s shape came out a little wonky but the finished piece still adorable to me. Constructing these lil guys is a fun hobby!
My son taught himself to knit and he wanted to learn to crochet too. He started with the penguin wobble and he loved it so much we bought the dinosaur. He has the baby dinosaur, baby penguin, piggy bank and pot. He is so engaged. I am thrilled for him to do something fun that is not video games or something online. He is happy showing off his talent and wobbles. They give him confidence, a sense of achievement and conversation pieces as well as loveable toys. We love them.
