Cab-In the Mood for the Holidays Advent Calendar

Let’s start with the positives- the presentation is wonderful. I enjoyed opening the boxes, the hook was super cute. Nice theme, fun characters and certainly helped me keep occupied over the holiday break. Box 12 was a lovely surprise.

So why only 3 stars? Spoilers ahead-
1- The entire kit was totally spoiled by whoever designed—Just look at the artwork on the yarn wrappers and the hook, so unfortunately all of the “surprises” were completely ruined from the get go. If I wanted to know what was in each box, I wouldn’t have ordered an advent calendar.
2- I found it odd that the hook wasn’t in box 1. All full sized creatures came with an unnecessary hook.
3-for someone learning, it’s really hard when videos are sped up- as in some of the red bird videos. They sped up at the spots I needed to see.
4- Why a red bird and a cardinal? I could have been somewhat okay with 2 birds maybe if one was a bluebird. But two red?
5-The skis made me cuss. A LOT. Super frustrating, but I guess it gave me a chance to practice perseverance.
6- I ordered so that it would arrive before Thanksgiving. Severe shipping delays.
7- As a lefty, it’s important to me that we have good resources specifically for us. Several video tutorials for the sweaters were right handed videos mixed in, during the sleeves section. SUPER confusing and was massively frustrating.
8- the sweater tutorials had some conflicting information- likely missed in editing. One step tells you to skip the corner (not going to stitch into it) and the every next step tells you TO use the corner stitch. Which is it?
9. I’ve liked the videos because they demo in easy to see colors. WHY are the demos for the skis in black? Incredibly hard to see and likely led to additional frustrations (Ps I don’t like the skis LOL)
10. I hope you like making magic loops, because you’re going to make a ton of them. So as a lefty, It was disappointing that the magic loop video was just a reversed right handed video- the text on the screen is backwards. I found a lefty-specific YT video to help me over the learning curve.
10. Given all the spoilers on the hook and yarn binding… the squirrel is pictured with a boggin. Boggin pattern not included??

Did I finish? Yes. Was it enjoyable? Mostly, though I found several sections totally frustrating. Will I order again next year? I’m uncertain. At this price point, I likely will not. There’s a lot of unnecessary waste- too many hooks, stuffing for days, and a LOT of extra yarn in the same colors.

I loved the advent calendar! It was so easy to learn how to crochet new shapes and I had so much fun! What a great way to count down the 12 days of Christmas. I will keep Woobling my hardest on every project:)

I absolutely love opening each box — the designs are so creative and it is amazing the boxes contribute to the winter wonderland scene. It is cute that the scenes feature the woobles from last years advent! It was a really good decision to make each of the big boxes self-sufficient. I can easily pack one box with me and I have everything I need (hook, stuffing, etc). I can tell a lot of work goes into making my these advent calendars and they are great!

I feel kinda weird reviewing something I haven't used. I have however, gotten another woobles kit so i'll talk about that. sorry. >_<

So I've been working on Emilio the turtle and it's coming along decently. the video (QR code in kit) has been very helpful in teaching me how to crochet. She takes her time explaining things in a way that's easy to understand, and the yarn is great quality. It also is easy to unravel when you make a mistake. I think it's well worth the purchase for anyone wanting to learn to crochet (like me) and for anyone else =]

Mine came today and looks great!I'm saving it till Christmas ⛄🎁. I can't wait to make all the awesome projects. BTW I can tell what day 3 is.❤️💕🩷
