Albus Dumbledore™ Crochet Kit

This was my second Woobles kit (I started with the yellow chick). I felt that there were some parts where the videos could have been more helpful such as sewing on the hair and making the wand. It also didn't say to sew on the hat but I assumed that was how it should have been done, so they should add a video with instructions on how to do this. Lastly, like other reviews mentioned, there is not enough yellow yarn to make the tassle the way the instructions say. This kit says for beginners but I would say it is more of an intermediate level. Overall, I really enjoyed learning the new skills from this kit and my Dumbledore turned out well.

I’ve wanted to try a Woobles kit for a long time and stumbled upon this kit at a Barnes and Noble. Keep in mind this is my very first crochet project ever. I loved how my dumbledore turned out, even with his imperfections, but I wouldn’t necessarily label this as a beginner kit. More like intermediate kit.

There were plenty of frustrating moments for sure. For one, many of the tutorial videos for this showed examples of another kit and different color. The most confusing one was the hair. Sewing on multiple strands of hair is very different than sewing on a tiny circle. And the other reviews are right in that there’s not enough yellow yarn for the tassel. Instead of wrapping it around your 4 fingers 6 times, I was only able to wrap around 3 fingers 5 times. So my tassel is smaller/ less full.

Even with the flaws, I had fun. Im happy that I was able to finally learn how to crochet and Woobles helped a lot.

Have I crocheted before? Yes. But only chain stitches to make a blanket. I had no clue how to do any of this stuff. Magic circles and attaching pieces? Changing colors and reading patterns? No clue! But I can now.

If you have never picked up a crochet needle before… YOU CAN DO THIS!

I was completely amazed. The videos were amazing. Step-by-step tutorials that were so easy to follow and not just reading confusing instructions from a book!

I originally bought this for my daughter because she was interested in learning to crochet, but I had no clue how to teach her. By the time I gave it to her for Christmas, she had moved on to other interests so I did it myself. I could not believe how well this turned out.

Is it expensive? A little. But by the end of this experience, the knowledge that I gained and I could carry on to other projects was worth what I spent on this package. This entire learning system is amazing. (I wish nursing school was so easy).

I cannot express to you how much you should buy this if you even have the slightest thought of doing this.. YOU COULD DO THIS! I can’t wait to do my next one. I wonder when they will come out with larger projects… let me know….

***and please add more yellow yarn to this kit. Not enough to make my tassel as thick as the video showed. The yellow only went around my hand four times, not six as instructed.

I love Dumbledore he was the whole reason I asked for Woobles for Christmas and got them. he turned out SO CUTE!!!
I had lots of extra yarn so :) except the yellow. there wasn't enough to wrap around my hand 6 times like the video told me to do, only 4. (and i'm a kid so that's even less for adults.) I loved it and will be getting more soon. if I was a true beginner, the videos would be great, but i already knew all the stitches so there definitely was a lot of skipping videos on how to hold yarn and how to do an sc and an inc and so on. very detailed! I loved it!!!!!! the picture below is of him hanging with my other Wooble buds.

I’m a pretty experienced crocheter, but this is my first stuffy. I feel like this was a good level for me. As a 9 year old a couple of parts were frustrating or hard to follow, but I got through it and it looks really cute. It was also fun to make. I will probably be buying more sometime.
