Billy the Unicorn Rainbow Crochet Kit

I anit gonna lie, I struggled at first. I had to restart 3 times, and took notes. I worked on him off and on with recently had a kid. I even started 2 other Woobles and came back to the original project. This had helped me a lot with a fresh start and different colors and textures to work with. I had understood the concept a lot better and then I had a clear head to then resume the original project. I had some goofs here and there but with my creative thinking I quickly fixed them. This was a really great project to make and I’m excited to finish my other ones. Im happy I learned a new skill.

The unicorn has quite a few different steps, but I succeeded👍🏼 I wouldn’t choose this as a first time ‘Woobler’ (it was my 3rd piece). The finished unicorn will be loved by my granddaughter 😊

I think this is my lowest rated Wooble. First, I don’t think it’s good for a first or super newbie. Something I have learned is as you crochet not only are you satisfied watching it turn into the shape you expect, but you also don’t know anything and need the shape to look realistically like what you’re making. Because this shape is strange to make, you won’t know if you’re doing it right as a beginner. Something I found lacking was that the instructions are fairly vague about where to see the hair and horn pieces. That’s why I removed one Star (otherwise 4 Star) it just says “place around this area” whereas most interruptions and Woobles say “place between rounds 3-4.” I have a lot of experience with Woobles, so it’s easy for me. But this is NOT a good first time Wooble. If you’re here for that or a gift try out a penguin or similar. Anything standard round and a ball.

My daughter loves unicorns, so I got her Billy for Xmas/Hanukkah. I come from a family of knitters/crocheters/weavers, but had never tried any of that until I picked up Billy The Unicorn. I was cautiously optimistic that I would be able to crochet a Wooble. I was pleasantly surprised to find the limited edition rainbow yarn in my kit when it arrived. I was able to progress along just fine with the videos, which is saying something for someone who has never done anything like this before. I ran into a little trouble with the horn, but stubbornly made my way through it (hooray for learning how to make a magic loop!). Against all odds (and believe me, they were not good considering the crocheter), I finished Billy not quite in time for xmas morning or even one of the 8 nights of Hanukkah, but better late than never. My daughter really loves Billy and it felt great to make her something special. So glad I found The Woobles. Onto the next one (or three)!

I bought this for my 11 yr old and she is so talented I could never do this and she said that she learned it from the woobles!
