Lola Loca the Polar Bear Crochet Kit

This is a great concept and, being that this was my first ever crochet experience, my impression of the entire project was positive until I got to the final components, which were the snout, ears and scarf. The videos for the body, while not the exact Lola model (I am guessing they were the blue penguin) were mostly clear and cohesive. Every single step had a video and there were few enough steps that if you forgot something you could click back one video and be right on track again. Once we got to the other body parts there were few video demonstrations - just text- and “You should have this when you’re done.” I am currently stuck on the ears and it’s frustrating because you have two help options- one is to email and the other is their Facebook group, which requires admin approval to post anything to the community. Either way you’ll spend hours if not days waiting for help and that’s a huge deal breaker when the thing you’re paying for with these kits is the teaching. (The supplies are not what you’re paying for. When I see people complain about the cost for how few supplies you get it’s sort of laughable because it’s clear that you’re paying for the teaching and the rate is comparable to what you would pay for a teacher.)

I would love to finish this polar bear because, without ears, it’s currently looking like a seal. Such a bummer.

This one looks even better than the first one I made! The little scarf was definitely something new and unique that I have never thought of before! I definitely recommend to beginners because of the easy to follow instructions, and the pre started piece.

Instructions wise, the tutorials were fairly easy to follow. As you get further along in them they give less information, which from one stand point makes sense because you learned all the stuff earlier, but I worked on this over a couple of days so I wish the end tutorials were a little more detailed. Or even better that we could have a pdf file of the woobles pattern we've bought. I really learn best through reading so I had to rewatch the tutorials a lot. So having a download able pattern to have beside me with the videos would have been really nice.

The only other problem I had with the kit was the red yarn almost ran out on me. After making both pompoms I only had about 8 inches left.

This was my first time ever crocheting and I would definitely recommend it to beginners. I have already ordered two more to try out so that my wooble can have some friends!
