The Woobles are a great way to learn how to crochet. When I first came across the advertisement for this product, I was surprised and dismayed at the cost of the items. “Im not going to spend that kind of money on a kit.” My sister and I talked about it after I shared the advertisement with her and she agreed that it was too costly. However, I really wanted to learn how to crochet.
I attended a crochet class offered at my local library. The instructor was knowledgeable about crocheting amigurumi and explained/showed how to read the pattern, as well as try to offer one-on-one assistance. This didn’t work for me because I couldn’t replay the class once I left. I watched YouTube videos as well but piecing videos together to learn was crazy. That’s when I ate crow and decided to purchase The Woobles kit and I’m so glad I did!!!
The kits come complete with everything you need to get started but what did it for me are the videos and online and/or text assistance you can receive! The step by step videos, the ability to reach out for extra help, that is what you are paying the extra for and it’s worth every penny. Not only am I learning how to crochet, but I’ve learned what each stitch is called, how to count stitches, how to read patterns, how to make a magic ring (although there’s a pre-started ring included in the kit), how to “sew” pieces together and so much more at my own pace. I frogged and replayed the video so many times because my stitch count was off but I learned and did it until I got it right. I included a picture of my first Wooble. It isn’t perfect but I’m glad that I have the video access to do it all over again (which I plan on doing until it’s perfect).
My mom was an amazing crochet artist and I want to continue her legacy. I’m so glad that I didn’t let the cost of The Woobles keep me from learning how to crochet. I’m so happy that I made the purchase and I’m actually learning everything I need to know to succeed!
