X marks the spot for this spectacu-lair little chest. Meant to be paired with Kaida the Dragon, who keeps watch on her treasure day and knight—when she’s not toasting marshmallows or eating burnt pizza, that is—it’s an adorable accessory that we Wooblers very rich-ly deserve.

Our Easy Peasy yarn and step-by-step videos will keep even this Beginner+ kit super simple and straight-for-hoard, though if any issues pop up that you need to in-chest-igate, we’re always here to help. So instead of letting things drag-on and on, let’s go for gold and fire up those skills, because this adorable chest is (trea)sure to keep both you and claw-some Kaida in the lap of luxury!

If this is your first time crocheting, get a beginner learn-to-crochet kit instead. Accessory kits are not designed to teach you how to crochet.

What's included

  • Step-by-step video tutorials
  • The Woobles Easy Peasy yarn, custom-made for beginners
  • Stuffing
  • Pattern as a PDF download

You'll also need a 4mm crochet hook and a yarn needle, which come with any beginner crochet kit.

Challenging, But Fun

I was super excited to do this piece [I'm a big DnD fan, so when I saw there was a dragon and her hoard I knew I had to get it]. I'd crocheted four Woobles and three accessory kits before this, so I was fairly confident going into it. I almost tried to just do it from the pattern, but when I opened it and saw so many terms I was unfamiliar or unpracticed with, I chose to follow the videos instead.

I was fairly confident in each of the pieces separately. The videos did a good job of explaining each round for the chest, the lid, and the side pieces (although I was a little confused with one part). I feel like where it went wrong was trying to attach all the pieces together. I was not confident after watching the videos that I was attaching the side pieces correctly, and the lid turned out to be way bigger than the chest, so sewing the two together made the lid look a little lumpy and lopsided.

All in all, I've realized that maybe my treasure chest isn't as bad as I thought it was right after I finished, and I'm happy with it (but may try to redo it in the future). This was easily the kit I've felt the most confused on/wanted more explanation. Not sure if that was user error or if the videos could be improved. Either way, I love the Woobles, and this kit definitely did help me learn new skills! Excited to keep Wooblin on!

This kit was a bit more difficult for me. I am certain the next time I make it it will go more smoothly for me. That being said, my granddaughter loves it and has her purple dragon guarding it.
