Ted the Gingy is my first Wooble and he is adorable! So easy. Videos were so easy to follow. Made the gingy house too from the Woobes advent calendar so Ted wouldnβt feel lonely until I make my next one!
Ted is my third wooble, and I like the design. Ted the gingerbread is so adorable!
Ted was number 2 for me and I loved making him! I really enjoyed working with the darker yarn most of the time. Easier on the eyes! Overall his shape was great for a beginner! Felt really accomplished by the body completion. I loved the creativity with frosting and the hardest part was likely the bow tie but really not too bad. I would say Ted would be an incredible starter or gift for someone getting into crocheting! All materials you need and videos you need are included! Really loved making Ted!
I made this cute little guy on the long Christmas weekend and my gosh it was so fun. This one was just constant enjoyment because every piece was so cute. Especially the bow tie. I decided to leave the mouth out because I have quite a few other Woobles Iβve done with the mouth and wanted one without to change it up. Anyways, 10/10 recommend Ted. I think heβs great for beginners especially if you want to do a bit more embroidery (which isnβt hard once you get the hang of it! - especially with the video guides)
I really appreciate how detailed all the video guides were in this one as well.
It had been some months since I'd last crocheted anything, so I was massively rusty when I started this kit and unfortunately it shows... My poor little guy, full of uneven stitching and large gaping holes. I also overstuffed him so I'm sure that didn't help. I also ran out of brown yarn, but that was my own doing. The arms looked too short doing them the way the pattern dictated, so I added an extra round. Had enough yarn for the first arm but ran out on the second and had to sub in my own (slightly different but serviceable) brown yarn. He's still cute despite his (many) flaws, though, imho.
My only complaint is the tutorial video for the bow tie. It needed more natural pauses, particularly during all the slip stitch and double crochet bits. I was constantly having to stop the video because I was having a lot of trouble doing the stitches but the demonstrator just kept plowing ahead.
Overall, I really loved this kit. The design of this little guy is so cute, and the tutorial videos for this one seemed a lot more in depth and better paced since my last Wooble project (Salem the witch cat) a few months ago. It was a lot easier to stop and replay the video than it was with Salem. I don't know if it's a specific thing for this kit only or if all Wooble videos have been updated to be like that. I hope they have, because they were a lot easier to follow along with (excepting the one mentioned above).
Looking forward to my next Wooble, Kaida the Dragon! Although, I think I'll do some more practice ones before attempting her... π
