Meet Albie the Phoenix
Hold on to yer (sorting) hats, ’cause another fantastic Wooble is coming yer way! Though Albie the Phoenix’s tail feathers haven’t ended up in any wands (that we know of), we still think he’s pretty wand-erful. In fact, we light up whenever he’s around.

While all those fiery feathers make this an intermediate kit, our step-by-step videos make it easy to spark up your skills—plus we’re always here to answer any burning questions you may have. Not only that, but our Easy Peasy yarn makes seeing stitches so simple, you’ll swear it’s magic. So get ready to bring the heat as you bring this fant-ash-tic new friend to life!

Can I really learn how to crochet from these kits?
You bet - over 250,000 people have learned crochet with The Woobles, and you can be next! Just follow the step-by-step video tutorials that come with each learn-to-crochet kit. Intermediate kits still come with our step-by-step video instructions, but only for techniques you might not’ve encountered in a beginner kit.

Cute Bird

Albie the Phoenix starts off easy but his feathers add a fun challenge. This is an intermediate kit so having some crochet knowledge is very helpful. I found videos for the wings confusing so I just read the written pattern and understood it better. Otherwise, Albie is a very cute Wooble that you will love making.

1st time crocheting and I love him so much

I took a bit of a risk going into this kit with zero prior crocheting experience, but I stuck with the process and am very glad that I did! Albie brings me so much joy — just looking at him across the room makes me feel incredibly accomplished and proud. Highly recommend him as he was so fun to make and is so cute to look at, but as a cautionary note, the instructions are not "complete beginner" friendly.

I understand that the kit clearly states it's Intermediate level, but I would really love it if the instructions could support crocheters with minimal experience by providing (or at least mentioning) helpful external links to Woobles videos or by providing quick step-by-step instructions for how to crochet a basic amigurumi body. I was really dispirited when 20 seconds into the video, I got told something like "If you don't understand what I mean by single crochet, reading patterns, increase, decrease, etc. then I recommend purchasing a Beginner kit." I appreciate the encouragement and the business reason behind it, but I am a lowly college student who could not afford to purchase another kit so I had no choice but to learn how to crochet Albie the hard way. This involved scouring YouTube, trying very hard to understand what patterns like [2 sc, inc] x 6 meant, and realizing halfway that I wasn't crocheting Albie wrong, I just had to flip him inside out. Maybe I had all of it coming since I decided to go straight to Intermediate, but it also wasn't clear to me until I had actually purchased the kit that I would not be given any beginner instructions. So either making that more clear or providing beginner resources in the instructions would be nice! All in all, though, I thoroughly enjoyed making Albie and am very happy I got through the stumbling blocks that I did :)
