The tail

Now a little taste of what it's like to crochet flat things! Here's what we're about to do with gray yarn:

Row 1:	ch 7	(7)
Row 2:	6 sc	(6)

Fasten off leaving a long tail. Thread a needle with the tail; then use it to sew the tail to the back of the body between rounds 13 to 14.

Grab the gray yarn and make a slip knot:

Then make 7 chain stitches, abbreviated "ch 7":

Make 6 sc in this foundation chain, starting from the second chain from the hook:
