Step 1.
Ch 1 and do not turn.

Step 2.
Sc into the same stitch and then 4 sc down the short edge.

Step 3.
Ch 1. Sc into the same st and then 9 sc down the long edge. Since this is the foundation chain from the beginning of the cover, crochet through only the front loop of the foundation chain.

Step 4.
Ch 1. Sc into the same st and then 4 sc down the short edge.

Step 5.
Ch 1 and sl st into the first st of the long edge.

Fasten off and weave in the tails.
