Bjørn the Narwhal Crochet Kit

This was my first time trying to crochet and while everything isn’t perfectly straight I absolutely love it and can’t wait to try another one.
With this being my first one there was a lot of different skills I had to figure out and I had to re watch several of the videos. The one with the tail was by far the most difficult and had to watch it like 5 times and even then I wasn’t sure if I did it correctly but I’m happy with how it turned out. I also did line everything up perfectly for sewing it on but I think it gives it character 😊

I received this kit for Christmas. I've been crocheting for about a month prior to this kit. It comes already started and marked for you. The videos are great. They really go slow and focus on good habits such as marking and counting. A lot of little tips and tricks included. This is really great for someone who wants to learn to crochet. I'm really impressed with this kit.

I loved the Bjorn kit. It was my first time ever crocheting, and I did it in less than a week! The videos were so helpful, and I was able to do it in the car, as well as in my (and others') house. My only complaint is that the video explaining how to sew on the horn, tail, and fins was a little vague to someone who had never done it before, I had to look up others' explanations of of how to do it. Other than that, I loved it! It turned out so cute when I was done with it, and my entire family loved it.

This is my eighth Wooble kit and hands-down my favorite Wooble thus far. There are a lot of things that make this one really fun to complete as someone who has done a few of these kits now. First, the body is very simple. This wasn’t my first time doing a color change, but if it had been it would have been a pretty nice one to start with because there’s only the one color change and it comes after you’ve had plenty of time to learn the basic stitches with the main part of the body. To the point of color changes- it was really satisfying to be able to sew the fins and tail on using the white line of crochet as a guide. The hardest part of Woobling is sewing the pieces on even and in the place you want them to be, so this natural guide with the white and blue line of demarcation was absolutely perfect. Then, and my absolute favorite, was hiding the color change with the tail. I hate seeing the color change of the yarn on these kits, so to get to cover it up was the best.

If I have one complaint I have to say that the videos explaining how to crochet the tail pieces together were very poorly done for someone who had never done that skill before. I had to go on YouTube and find other folks’ examples of crocheting pieces together for it to click. Like all sticking points with these Wooble kits now that I know how to do this particular thing I will be able to do it in the future, but I do think it’s problematic to have to go to other websites to understand something that is supposed to be taught in these video lessons. As I’m not the only person to complain about this in these reviews I would recommend redoing this section of videos.

Otherwise, great Wooble!

This is my 4th wooble. Most of Bjorn was standard until it got to the tail. And instead of a step by step guide like in the getting set up portion, you were shown 3ish very short videos. They were fast and not very detailed. This is a new technique in making this wooble and should be treated with care. I had to redo the tail and just hope I did it right the second time. I think the team needs to look into doing a better step by step video. He does turn out very cute!
