I won this kit from McDonald’s Monopoly, so mine is red. The step by step videos are easy to follow and I was able to complete the kit and the tiny soda cup accessory also. The magic loops take some practice and patience, but the main kits always come with the first one needed so you can start right away. They also give you an alternative to use if you can’t get it to work. The videos teach you how the patterns are written so that you can refer to the pattern directly if you want to. This was my second one. I did Gollum and his fish first.
Some reviews online suggest getting a different hook with a smoother surface. The one I got was slighty smaller so I ended up inadvertently making the stitches smaller and tighter. If you do want a different hook, I would suggest bringing some of the yarn to the store and finding yarn of the same type and thickness to see what size is recommended.
It’s really a cool feeling to know that you’ve completed the project and it looks mostly like the picture on the site. My Pierre came out a little wonky so I call him Chilly Wonka.
Everything I needed was in the kit except scissors…and the iPad to watch the videos 😂 of course. I had plenty of yarn and could probably do a second penguin a little smaller with crocheted eyes once I figure out how to make it a little smaller.
The step by step makes it fun and the small project makes it an attainable goal to finish. 5 stars all the way!

This was my first time crocheting and it turned out so good. I showed it to my teacher and she was like “If a 10 year old can do it I can too!” I totally recommend this for beginners!!!!!!!

I just finished my first woobles and it was a great experience! I loved every step of the way and I want to get even more into crocheting now!
