Why Chilly the Frog? I have always been someone who loves arts & crafts, but there was something very special that came alive in me when I learned how to crochet. I found this hobby and hyperfixation when I needed it most, and I have been making things with yarn ever since. What started as a fun little project to keep my hands busy and my mental health in check has now turned into THIS! My very first crochet project was a frog that looked similar to Chilly, which is why this collaboration with Woobles is so special to me. Y'all. Fell in love with Chilly the moment I saw him. Was fun and relatively easy to make. Lily pads were a lot more complicated, but came out okay after watching the videos multiple times. I felt Chilly needed a pink companion so I made him one. Thanks to Gina on the button and loop idea on the backpack, am a beginner so it was a bit challenging to make it work, but I pulled it off. Elyse, thanks for making a 'cool' frog.
I love Chilly and his nerdy little soul. I would die for him. I also love Elyse Myers and this kit is so perfect for her! I loved her intros and outtros.
Four stars because the backpack construction is held on with a hope and a prayer. The straps aren’t secure at all and it felt odd that the instructions had us put them in like that. If you’re going to give this to a child to play with, take some extra time to sew in the straps so they don’t easily slide out.
This little dude is so cute!! Got his little backpack & he’s all ready for school! I’m an experienced crocheter but wanted to support Elyse bc I like her so much. Also I wanted the cute crochet hook! And I’m a school librarian so I wanted to make myself something school related. The instructions are so clear, what a great kit. You can do this!!!
I ended up not closing his backpack but adding a button & a loop to make it fully functional. Why make such a sweet little backpack if you can’t put anything in it?! Gotta make him a little book now. 😁 This was a quick, fun project. Highly recommend.
