Esperanza was the first Wooble I made with sparkly yarn, which was much easier to crochet with then the glow in the dark yarn. She was fun to build and I loved her little skirt as it helps her stand. I wish all Woobles had that so they didn't just tip over. I do wish she had a left and right ear and wings. The reason is that one ear and wing is correct (v's face-bound), the other back-bound, which was a bit frustrating after all the details in the design and I'm not experienced enough to figure this out on my own. Also the wings didn't align correctly with the belt in the back and weren't sitting properly so I had to build a bridge between the two to make it work. Would love Woobles to make the sparkly yarn available with the other colors - oh the things I could build! I also made the little mushrooms with her to give as a gift...
First of, this cute fairy has my late gramma’s name (we lost her last Dec), so of course I’m going to make her!
I’ve been Woobling for a few years now and I am OBSESSED! I love all my Wooble babies! lol. I just have to say, lil “Espin” (as my gramma was once nicknamed) was a little more than Beginner.
I do agree that there should be instruction revision for the wings. (1) the wings should have the “right side” facing out for BOTH sides and (2) I found that when I followed the instructions to sc into the chain, it left a hole in the center and not a clean circle like in the videos. I couldn’t figure out why mine looked so gaping and the one in the video looked so cinched. Then, I tried doing a 6sc magic circle to start it off and that seemed to do the trick. See photo below. The right wing has the MR start.
Overall, I love this little fairy. 🥰 the second photo below is of a pic of me and my gramma (who was a seamstress) and Esperanza the fairy (before I sew her wings on, lol). ♥️
Esperanza the fairy was challenging, but in a good way. She was my second wooble, and the experience paid off! All her components were tricky, but added extra cuteness! I love her, and I think you should make an Esperanza too!
