I think that at first glance, this is an ambitious kit and I can see why. There are quite a few different parts involved in making Gary and it feels intimidating as a result.
As a kit, as always, everything was provided. From the materials to the video tutorials as well as the written pattern. I made a tiny mistake on the placement of Gary's spots and the swirl on one side of his shell, but I don't mind it; it just shows that my Gary is mine! 😁 I DID, add a small band around the edge of the shell as a bit of a personal touch and to mimic the little raised lip on Gary's shell in the show!
One note about this kit is that I had a tiny bit of trouble attaching Gary's eyes onto his body. Stitch markers weren't much help in holding the eyestalks in place, so I did end up breaking out sewing pins to hold things in place as I sewed.
Another is that I wish that there was a segment showing us how the eyestalk was getting sewed into the body. I know there is a tutorial to show how to sew one 3D piece to another, but even then it took a bit, for me, to get it right.
Overall, a great kit that I would totally recommend!
I truly enjoyed this kit. I was very much intimidated by it but it turned out to be quite easy to follow. As always, the instructions were clear and the pattern well written. Loved everything about it.
I'm not a fan of SpongeBob, but I found this character so adorable I couldn't resist.
Gary is the cutest Wooble ever! I received the SpongeBob collab for Christmas, and I went right for Gary. He is very time-consuming, in my opinion, but totally worth it. The little wavy "foot" at the bottom is so cute and unique, and his huge eyes look just like the real character. You won't regret getting this one!
